Business Practices at Flameout: Why Transparency and Expectations Matter

ASME Welding Houston Texas

At Flameout Fabrication and Design, we believe that transparency and clear expectations are the foundation of every successful partnership. In an industry where precision, safety, and timelines are everything, we go above and beyond to communicate our process from the very beginning.

When you choose to work with Flameout, you’re not just hiring a fabricator...you’re gaining a partner that values structure, quality, and trust. That’s why we’ve outlined exactly what you can expect when doing business with us. From order acceptance to final quality documentation, every step is designed to ensure accountability, traceability, and excellence.

Here is what you can expect from us:

  1. Order Acceptance - Every project begins with a signed purchase order, setting the foundation for our scope of work.

  2. Preliminary Drawing - Our team initiates general fabrication and design planning using in-house procedures and ongoing drawing development.

  3. Copies of Purchase Orders - All relevant purchase orders are shared with sub-vendors to align materials and lead times.

  4. Weld Procedures and Welder Qualification Testing - We follow strict standards for carbon steel piping and use certified welders according to ASME IX and Lloyd’s Registry where applicable.

  5. Fabricated Hydrants and Manifolds - Fabrication is completed following QA/QC protocols and design documentation for accuracy and consistency.

  6. Material Traceability - All materials are tracked using our QA/QC Manual procedures and supported by bill of materials and material certificates.

  7. Fit-Up and Alignment - Proper fit-up and alignment are verified against drawings and applicable codes, including B31.3.

  8. Visual and Dimensional Checks - Our team performs thorough inspections to confirm dimensional accuracy and weld quality.

  9. Joining Materials Inspection - Each joint is inspected and documented through official inspection reports, ensuring integrity before final assembly.

  10. X-Ray Inspection (10%) - A 10% radiographic inspection is completed through third-party providers to verify weld quality and compliance.

  11. Hydrostatic Testing - Systems are tested using hydrostatic procedures to confirm pressure integrity, documented via chart recordings.

  12. Preparation for Shipment - Final inspections are conducted, NCRs are resolved, and Certificates of Conformity are issued before packing.

  13. Shipping Release / Inspection Certificate - The release process is documented and verified internally for shipping authorization.

  14. Final Quality Dossier - A complete documentation package is compiled, reviewed, and approved ensuring full traceability and compliance from start to finish.
